Two Kurdish parties praise agreement between SDF commander, Ahmed al-Sharaa

The Kurdish Democratic Unity Party in Syria (Yekiti) and the Kurdish Democratic Progressive Party in Syria praised the agreement signed between the commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, and Ahmed al-Sharaa, on March 10 in the capital, Damascus.

A joint statement issued by the two parties stated that the agreement, which culminated in rounds of meetings and discussions, was widely welcomed by Syrians of all affiliations, and received remarkable media coverage in the press, news agencies, and social media sites.

The statement indicated that the agreement included important priorities, including stopping the bloodshed of Syrians, stopping violence and attacks throughout Syrian territory, rejecting hate speech and discrimination, and ensuring the safe return of the displaced to their homes, in addition to emphasizing that the Kurds are an integral part of Syria and have their rights and duties like other components of the Syrian people.

The two parties expressed their support for the agreement and what it includes in terms of responsible directions and measures aimed at strengthening civil peace and the public interest of all Syrians.

The two parties also called on all Syrian national forces and activities to make sincere and constructive efforts to implement the terms of the agreement, which contributes to building a new Syria free of tyranny and corruption.

It is noteworthy that the agreement has received support from official regional bodies, including Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council, which reflects the importance of this step in enhancing stability and security in the region.
