Turkish occupation rules out holding meeting to normalize relations with Damascus govt

A source in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Turkish occupation state ruled out the possibility of planning a high-level meeting for the Quartet formula (Russia, Syria, Turkey and Iran) on normalization between Ankara and Damascus.

A source in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Turkish occupation state told a Russian agency that: “A high-level meeting of the Quartet formula (Russia, Syria, Turkey and Iran) on normalization between Ankara and Damascus has not yet been planned.”

The Turkish source added: “It has not yet been decided to hold such a meeting at the present time.”

Earlier, Alexander Lavrentiev, the Special Representative of the Russian President to Syria announced in a previous interview that the road map for normalizing relations between (Syria and Turkey) is not yet ready, and the two parties have not yet begun to agree on it.

He considered that the presence of the Turkish occupation in Syria is what hinders normalization between Ankara and Damascus, and he also ruled out any talks between the defense ministers of Russia, Syria, Turkey and Iran at the present time.

It is noteworthy that the first meeting of foreign ministers (Russia, Turkey, Syria and Iran) was held in Moscow on May 10 of last year.
