Turkish occupation forces launch air and ground strikes on 18 villages and hills in NE Syria

Over the past 24 hours, the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries bombed 18 villages and hills in the North and East Syria region. In response, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) launched a series of operations.

Today, the Media Center of the SDF issued a statement to the public, revealing the aerial and ground attacks on North and East Syria over the past 24 hours, as well as the SDF’s response. The statement read as follows:

"On Sunday night into Monday, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries continued targeting the vicinity of Tishrin Dam with heavy weapons, including artillery and tanks, causing material damage.

On the Qereqozaqê front, our fighters carried out a series of operations targeting Turkish occupation bases and positions in both Qereqozaqê Hill and the Turkish occupation base in the village of Al-Hoshariya. As a result, seven mercenaries were confirmed injured.

Meanwhile, Turkish warplanes launched several airstrikes on the villages of Al-Tina and Ghasaq, causing material damage to civilian properties. This was accompanied by indiscriminate shelling with heavy artillery, tanks, rocket launchers, and mortars on the villages of Al-Tina, Jada, Bir Hasso, Ghasaq, Dikan, Malha, Al-San'a, as well as the hills of Sifi and Qereqozaqê, and the city of Serrin, targeting them with more than 110 shells. The bombardment resulted in material damage to homes and civilian properties.

At 3:49 p.m. on Monday, from its base in Al-Hoshariya, the Turkish occupation army launched intense artillery shelling on the village of Sheikhler/Al-Shuyukh. The shelling also targeted Midana Hill, the village of Turman, and the area between the villages of Qana and Balink, west of Kobani, causing damage to civilian properties. Meanwhile, Turkish drones were actively flying over the area.

On the Deir Hafir front, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries attacked the village of Al-Imam with three suicide drones, along with heavy artillery shelling, resulting in damage to civilian homes and properties.

Our fighters responded to the bombardment, inflicting casualties among the mercenaries, though their exact numbers remain unknown.

At 3:00 p.m. on Monday, the mercenaries detonated a suicide drone in the village of Koberlek in the Ain Issa countryside, causing destruction and damage to civilian homes and properties. Additionally, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries targeted the villages of Koberlek and Hawalik with heavy artillery, leading to further destruction of civilian properties. Turkish drones remained in the airspace throughout the entire day."
