Russia: importance of national dialogue lies in taking into account interests of all political forces in Syria

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov stressed the importance of national dialogue in Syria, taking into account the legitimate interests of all political forces in the country.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said that the future of Syria should be determined by Syrians through national dialogue.
In a statement to a Russian newspaper, Bogdanov stressed his country's readiness to provide aid to the Syrians in light of the difficult circumstances in the country.
He stressed the importance of the national dialogue to be held, taking into account the legitimate interests of all political forces and ethnic and religious groups.
"Syria is going through a difficult period today. We hope that its people will successfully overcome the many difficulties, which have become the result of the protracted crisis in the country."
In January, a Russian delegation, which included Mikhail Bogdanov and the Russian president's special envoy to Syria, Alexander Lavrentyev, made the first visit to Damascus after the fall of the Baath regime.
