Turkish mercenaries, settlers steal Afrin olive crops

The occupied rural areas of Afrin continue to witness ongoing harassment and violations by Turkish occupation militants against the Kurds. Under the supervision and protection of the so-called “Economic Committee,” these mercenaries are carrying out thefts of this year’s olive harvest amid a complete absence of justice and accountability and widespread chaos.

The Afrin – Syria Human Rights Organization reported that settlers, on the night of Tuesday, November 4, stole olive crops in the village of Kutana, part of the Bulbul district in Afrin, causing significant damage to the trees by breaking branches and taking the fruits, which are the property of the following citizens:

1. Mustafa Ahmed Joulaq

2. Yahya Sido Horo

3. Mustafa Ahmed Ma’moush

4. Mohammad Issa Ma’moush

5. Bahri Khalil

6. Manan Qader Sido

7. Khalil Nouri Hori

Additionally, the leader of the Turkish occupation militants, nicknamed “Abu Juma,” along with “Abdul Hafiz Barakat,” seized the olive harvest belonging to several residents of the village of Hasandira, also in the Bulbul district:

1. Hanan Juno

2. Mohammad Ahmed Rashu

3. Naima Hamo

4. Roudin Khalil Omar

5. Sadiq Khalil Omar

6. Luqman Khalil Omar

7. Mohammad Said Hanan

8. Akram Said Hanan

9. Mohammad Sheikhou

The organization noted in its statement that these citizens hold official documents and property registration records proving their ownership of the lands. However, this has not prevented the systematic looting and theft against them, amid the absence of accountability and the ongoing complicity of the controlling authorities in the area.
