"Turkish authorities still insist on using a military approach to impose their vision"

On February 27, leader Abdullah Ocalan issued the "Peace and Democratic Society" appeal, calling for an end to violence and the adoption of dialogue as a means of resolving conflicts. Despite the passage of nearly two months since this appeal, the Turkish authorities have not taken any positive steps to date. Instead, they have intensified their military attacks, launching 9,790 ground and air attacks on the Mediya Defense Zones during the month of April, without improving his detention conditions.

In the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood of Aleppo, residents stressed the importance of the Turkish authorities taking serious measures in response to this appeal. Kafa Mohammad described the peace appeal as an international appeal, not limited to the Kurdish issue but encompassing all components of the region.
Kafa pointed out that the Turkish authorities continue to adhere to their policies of denial, refusing to recognize Kurdish identity.
She said, "They have not taken the initiative to release Leader Abdullah Ocalan, but rather have continued to escalate their attacks, reflecting their desire to deepen the conflict by using military force to achieve their goals."

Manaf Jaafar highlighted the popular reactions to Leader Abdullah Ocalan's call, noting that several events have been organized as part of the "Day of Dialogue with Free Life" campaign, seeking to achieve the leader's physical freedom.
He considered the goal of this call to be to calm political tensions and work to establish stability in the Middle East through peaceful solutions.
Manaf indicated that the Turkish authorities remain determined to use a military approach to impose their vision, confirming their unwillingness to change their traditional policies regarding the Kurdish issue. He added that the Kurdish people will continue their struggle throughout Kurdistan to achieve the physical freedom of the leader.

Hanifa Haji emphasized that Leader Abdullah Ocalan's announcement of an end to violence and his call for a political and legal framework to establish peace had a clear impact on the general landscape in the Middle East.
Regarding the position of the Turkish authorities, Hanifa Haji explained that they are still not prepared to abandon the approach of military force, as they continue their attempts to eliminate Kurdish identity.
She emphasized the necessity for the Kurdish people to adhere to the ideology of Leader Abdullah Ocalan to preserve their identity, noting that the Kurds have become more familiar with political action, which requires Turkey to reconsider its approach to avoid repercussions that could threaten its internal stability.
