Transitional Govt. blocks road, prevents cars from crossing into Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh

The factions affiliated with the Transitional Government in Syria closed the road connecting the Ashrafiyeh and Al Sirian neighborhoods with concrete stones, in addition to preventing cars from passing into the two neighborhoods, as well as tightening the noose on those entering and leaving on foot.

ANHA correspondent in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh neighborhoods reported on Wednesday that factions affiliated with the Syrian Transitional Government have closed the road leading to the French Hospital, which connects the Ashrafiyeh and Al Sirian neighborhoods, by placing concrete barriers.

Footage documented by ANHA agency shows the road closure, as well as the presence of several armed men nearby.

The Transitional Government has also prohibited vehicles from entering the two neighborhoods, allowing civilians to enter and leave on foot, while subjecting them to strict checks of their personal belongings, phones, and identification.

On Monday, the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh neighborhoods were subjected to an attack by factions affiliated with the Syrian Transitional Government. The attack involved heavy artillery shelling, rocket launchers, mortars, tanks, and heavy machine guns, directly targeting civilian homes. This resulted in the death of one woman and injuries to 19 others.
