Throats of hundreds in Darbasiya chanted, “Resistance is life”

Hundreds of residents of the city of Darbasiya in Al-Jazira Canton came out today in a demonstration denouncing the Turkish occupation state committing massacres against residents on duty at the Tishreen Dam.

The demonstration started from Free Women's Square, towards Gardenia Roundabout, with participants chanting: 'Long live the resistance of the Syrian Democratic Forces' and 'Resistance is life.' The participants carried the flags of the Syrian Democratic Forces, the Women's Protection Units, and the Community Protection Units, in reference to their firm and continuous support for the resistance in the region.

Upon their arrival, the participants observed a minute of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs, then the administrator of Kongra Star in the city of Darbasiya, Fatima Kalash, gave a speech in which she affirmed that “Tishreen Dam has become a symbol of resistance and steadfastness in the face of the attacks of the Turkish occupation.”

She added: "The occupation will not be able to break the will of the people, as the Syrian Democratic Forces represent our presence, and the Women's Protection Units represent our identity. By resisting the people and rallying around their sons in the Syrian Democratic Forces, we form a strong barrier that hinders the goals of the Turkish occupation in the region."

For his part, the co-chair of the Darbasiyahî City Council, Noman Arabo, confirmed that "the resistance of the people of NE Syria is inspired by the spirit of the Kobani resistance, which was able to defeat the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, and achieve certain victory."

The demonstration ended with chanting slogans glorifying the sacrifices of the martyrs, emphasizing support for the Syrian Democratic Forces, and continuing to resist the Turkish occupation until final victory is achieved.
