Threats to seize quarry in Ain Issa countryside

Armed men in the countryside of Ain Issa threatened to seize a quarry belonging to a Kurdish citizen, despite his official documents, amid accusations of inaction by the General Security of the Interim Government.

In the western countryside of Ain Issa, in the Raqqa countryside, armed men attacked a quarry belonging to a Kurdish citizen, attempting to seize it despite his possession of official documents proving his ownership for over 30 years.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the armed men presented the quarry owner with two options: either relinquish the quarry or pay a sum of money, claiming that it had previously belonged to them before being transferred to its current owner.

The Observatory noted that the incident occurred in the presence of members of the Internal Security Forces affiliated with the Syrian Interim Government, who did not intervene, prompting accusations of inaction and negligence.

The area is witnessing increasing tension amid complaints from residents about repeated violations and weak security measures in the Ain Issa countryside.
