Thousands of Euphrates residents take to streets, denouncing occupation

Men and women, young and old, along with children, took part in a massive demonstration to condemn the Turkish attacks on Tishrin Dam.

The protest began in front of the Free Woman Square, with participants carrying banners that read, "The Resistance of Rojava's People Will Defeat the Occupation," and "Resistance is Life, Long Live the Resistance of the SDF, Our Pledge is Revenge." The demonstration marched through the main streets before turning into a large gathering at Martyr Akid Square.

After observing a moment of silence, Mazkin Khalil, the co-vice president of the Executive Council of the Euphrates Canton, delivered a speech condemning the Turkish occupation’s attacks, its ongoing shelling of Tishrin Dam, and its targeting of a civilian convoy heading to the dam.

Mazkin Khalil stated, "Turkey is committing war crimes and carrying out genocide against the people. They are targeting journalists and ambulances in plain sight of the entire world, yet the people continue their resistance and are thwarting the occupation’s attacks."

She called on all patriots to rally around their military forces, emphasizing, "Our people must stand united with their forces and firmly resist the occupation and Turkish attacks. The protection of our land is our responsibility."

The demonstration concluded with chants of "Resistance is Life."
