Third-phase updated curricula sent for printing ahead of new academic year

The Curriculum Institute under the Autonomous Administration is continuing to complete the third and final phase of the school curriculum update project for primary, middle, and high schools, which was launched in 2024 with the aim of enhancing and modernizing educational content.

According to information obtained by ANHA agency, the institution has completed updating the textbooks for grades 3rd and 6th of primary school as well as grade 9th of middle school, and has sent them to printing for production. It is currently working on finalizing the curriculum for grade 12th, which is expected to be completed within the month and submitted for printing.

The printing process is carried out at two local printers: Rumeilan Printing House and Martyr Herkol Printing House. Printing operations commenced on May 20, 2026, and continue untill this day.

This printing initiative forms part of the third phase of the curriculum reform project, which commenced in July 2025 and covers the curricula for grades 3, 6, 9, and upper secondary education.

During the first phase implemented in 2024, the Curriculum Institute completed updates to the curricula for grades 1, 4, 7, and 10, which were put into effect during the 2024–2025 academic year. The second phase involved updates to the curricula for grades 2, 5, 8, and 11, which were distributed to schools during the 2025–2026 academic year.

The updated textbooks from the third phase are scheduled to be distributed to schools upon the commencement of the 2026–2027 academic year, thereby completing the curriculum update process that covers all educational stages.
