TEV-DEM: Occupied Afrin has become hotbed for terrorists
TEV DEM confirmed that occupied Afrin transformed into the largest center for gathering terrorism and mercenaries, as international inaction contributes to the expansion of the crimes.

Today, the Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) issued a written statement about occupied Afrin, marking the sixth anniversary of its occupation by Turkey and its mercenaries.
The statement recalled the martyrs and saluted those who participated in the struggle and resistance against the attack of the Turkish occupation army on Afrin which continued for 58 years, the occupation of Afrin by Turkey and its mercenaries is considered a violation of international conventions and norms.
It pointed to Turkey's occupation policyby saying "terrorism and mercenaryism are the basis of the mentality of Turkish fascism, its goal is to destroy the cultural structure and societal values,"
The statement added that Afrin is witnessing a process of demographic change and efforts to separate it from Syrian territories, due to imposing Turkish language and dealing with the Turkish currency.
The statement also referred to the ongoing crimes committed by Turkey and its mercenaries in occupied Afrin against the remaining Kurds, including “murders, robberies and thefts, kidnappings, paying ransoms, destroying nature, and seizing civilian property,” describing them as the most horrific crimes, citing the murder of the Kurdish boy Ahmed in the Janders district.
TEV-DEM held the international forces and the United Nations responsible for the occupation of Afrin by Turkey and its mercenaries, it also condemned the apparent silence regarding the crimes committed there
TEV-DEM noted that Afrin "was the largest democratic model and had the best experience in building the project of unity of peoples and authentic cultures, before it was occupied by Turkey and its mercenaries, and turned into an arena for the gathering of terrorism and mercenaries."
TEV-DEM saluted the ongoing resistance of the Afrin refugees in Shahba camps and their steadfastness towards the occupation and the siege of the Damascus government.
TEV-DEM called on all civil society institutions and organizations and all parties concerned with the Syrian issue and international public opinion, especially the United Nations to take bolder and more realistic stances regarding what is happening in Afrin.
TEV-DEM stressed that the liberation of Afrin is one of the priorities of their democratic liberation struggle.
