TEV-DEM: Leader's Democratic Project has become global one

TEV-DEM issued a statement, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the international conspiracy against leader Abdullah Ocalan.

The statement read:

“At the beginning, we denounce, in the strongest terms, the international conspiracy in its twenty-fifth anniversary against Leader Abdullah Ocalan, who represents the will and aspirations of the peoples and societies in the region and the world.  The conspiring countries violated all international laws and traditions with the aim of eliminating the leadership of a people searching for truth, freedom and social justice.

The danger of the negative behaviors of the conspiring countries still exists despite the differences and contradictions among them, but they insist on igniting wars and expanding their scope due to their lack of desire for democratic and peaceful solutions. The cohesion and solidarity of peoples with the resistance and thought of Leader Abdullah Ocalan have increased in the world in addition to organizing humanitarian initiatives, launching broad global campaigns for the physical freedom of Leader, resolving the Kurdish issue politically, and taking historic and important steps towards building a free led by women and youth.

The resistance and struggle of leader in Imrali, for more than twenty-five years amid the imposition of the Turkish fascist state and with direct support from the Gladio network is the most severe punishments  that has no connection to human rights laws and international human rights treaties.

The countries that participated in the conspiracy are partners in the policy of isolation with dangerous political goals to weaken the influence of leader on the peoples.

It would have been better for the international community and human rights and humanitarian organizations to take the leader’s statements and positions regarding peace initiatives to end the conflict and crises plaguing the region seriously and search for a common formula to express honorable positions to reach ways of peaceful and democratic solutions in Turkey, northern Kurdistan, and the entire region.

 It has become clear that the democratic nation project, led by leader Ocalan has become a global project and the most influential among the cultural, political, and social circles and the liberal democrats.

We at TEV-DEM call on all Kurdish, Arab and Syriac political and national forces, democratic and civil society organizations, and all components of society in NE Syria to escalate the struggle to make this year a year of physical freedom for Leader Abdullah Ocalan.   We also salute the contemporary resistance of leader and all those who support this resistance.

Our call to all human rights organizations, all liberals, democrats, and all revolutionary movements in the world to organize and join democratic solidarity stances to demand the physical freedom of leader Ocalan and to support the resistance of our comrades detained in Turkish fascist prisons. Leader Abdullah Ocalan has become a symbol of freedom not only for the Kurds, but for all peoples of the world."
