TEV DEM congratulates Yazidis on  Red Wednesday occasion

The Democratic Society Movement issued a written statement coinciding with the approaching of Eid of  Red Wednesday, which falls tomorrow, during which it congratulated all peoples and the Yazidi community in particular,  that reads:

“With the advent of Red Wednesday, we first extend our warmest congratulations and blessings to Leader Abdullah Ocalan, who recommended protecting the Yazidis from traitors, and who through his patriotic and moral stances was able to revive the essential and moral spirit of the culture and history of the ancient Yazidi religion, we also extend our congratulations to our Kurdish people in general and the Yazidi Kurds in particular, and to all the families of the martyrs and all the fighters and resistance fighters on the resistance frontlines, who contributed to the defense and rescue of the Yazidis from the clutches of organized global ISIS terrorism.

Red Wednesday comes at the beginning of Eastern April, and the month of April is the beginning of the New Year calendar for the Yazidi Kurds. It is sacred because it symbolizes the beginning of the formation of the universe, life, nature, and continuity in building the foundations and principles of a new natural life philosophy.

As a first step towards building the highest human values ​​and ethics, which later became the law of participatory life without discrimination between all societies in those civilizational eras.”

And TEV DEM added, “While the peoples of the region celebrate Red Wednesday this year, the resistant Yazidi community in Şengal and the diaspora is still facing difficulties, as a result of the political conspiracies and agreements carried out by the Turkish occupation state, in cooperation with the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Iraqi government against the will of our Yazidi community, to remove them from the political equation in Iraq and Kurdistan, and the daily crimes committed against the Yazidi Kurds in Afrin and Serêkaniyê by imposing the legitimacy of terrorism under the Turkish fascist occupation control; to end their existence and eliminate their historical culture.”

And it congratulated: “We in the Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) on this occasion congratulate all the peoples of the region, with all their religions, beliefs and cultures, especially the Yazidi Kurds, and we congratulate them on this authentic historical holiday, hoping that this Eid will be an ideal means of free political will.”

And called on “all Kurdistan political and national powers in general, and all human rights and civil organizations; To provide support to protect the will and gains of the Yazidis in Şengal, and to attach great importance to the political, social and economic achievements and victories achieved by the Yazidis.

We appeal to all the displaced people in Başûr Kurdistan in the camps to return to Şengal and contribute to strengthening the bonds of unity and solidarity with the Şengal resistance to thwart the plans and agreements that place the Yazidi community in the danger of new genocide.”
