The Democratic Autonomous Administration congratulated the Yazidi community on Red Wednesday, highlighted the crimes of the Turkish occupation state against the Yazidi community in the occupied areas, and called for its protection.

The Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria congratulated the Yazidi community on the occasion of "Red Wednesday", through a statement published today on its official websites.

The Autonomous Administration statement addressed, at its beginning, the history of the Yazidi community: “The Yazidis are considered, and still are, among the oldest peoples of Mesopotamia and its authentic components. They have contributed of developing human civilization through the cultural heritage and noble human values ​​they possess, which they have been able to preserve in the face of the powers of evil and tyranny since ancient times.”

The statement referred to what the Yazidi community was exposed to, and its renewal by the Turkish occupation state: “The genocide of Şengal and the massacres of Afrin at the hands of the oppressors of the era and its mercenaries from ISIS and its followers, as the most horrific crimes were committed against them, including the killing, abuse, and captivity of women, which are considered crimes of genocide of the human race and crimes againsy humanity, In particular, we mention what happened and is happening in the occupied Afrin, Serêkaniyê  and Girê Spî, of systematic practices and crimes in the context of sweeping, plundering policies by the Turkish state and its mercenary groups against the Kurdish component, especially the Yazidi community, which affected their lives and beliefs and forced displacement from their homeland and place of residence.”

In its statement, the Democratic AANES congratulated: “The Yazidi brothers throughout the region and the world, and we hope that this occasion and the meanings and values ​​it carries will be renewal and revival and the beginning of the natural life cycle and richness for the comprehensive Syrian national identity, and that it will be the beginning of healing the wounds and pain of the Syrian peoples who seeks the values ​​of freedom, justice, humanity and democracy.”

The Democratic Autonomous Administration appealed to: "The international community and concerned human rights organizations to protect the Yazidi community and its cultural heritage, and to return the indigenous residents of Afrin, Serêkaniyê, and Girê Spî to their place of residence with legal and international protection."
