Tel Tamr residents protest rising prices and poor services

Residents of Tel Tamr held a protest today, calling for lower prices and improvements to living and public services amid growing economic pressures and declining purchasing power.

The protest brought together a number of residents who expressed their dissatisfaction with rising fuel and basic commodity prices, as well as the declining quality of bread. They called for urgent measures to ease the growing cost-of-living burden on the population.

Protesters raised the slogan, “Our demand is good-quality bread,” calling for improvements to the quality of loaves, compliance with specified weight and standards, and regular and fair access to bread for all residents.

During the protest, participants blocked the M4 international highway to voice their demands and reject the deteriorating living conditions. They said rising fuel prices were directly driving up the prices of various goods and services.

The protesters also called on the relevant authorities to intervene to address the situation at bakeries, strengthen oversight of their operations, improve bread quality and ensure that it meets required standards, as bread is an essential commodity affecting the daily lives of all residents.
