Tay Tribe Council: National unity is capable of confronting all external threats

During the last period, attempts by external regimes to spread discord among the components of North and East Syria have appeared, coinciding with attacks by the Turkish occupation army on infrastructure and its continuous bombing of villages along the border strip.

Sheikh Hassan Farhan Abdul Rahman, Sheikh of the Tay Tribe Council in Syria, said: “There has been co-existence between the components of the region for thousands of years, and there are many historical experiences of these components, in which they were able, in their unity, to confront external dangers.”

Hassan Farhan Abdel Rahman gave an example of this, and said: “In the Biandor Revolution, the components of the Arabs and Kurds united against French colonialism.”

In July 1923, a large number of members of the Kurdish and Arab tribes in the Jazira canton attacked soldiers of the French army in the village of “Biandor”, whose dirt hill the French had used as a military barracks. Three French officers and approximately 41 soldiers of the French army were killed in the attack.

Abdul Rahman explained: “Since the outbreak of the Syrian crisis, the regions of the North and East have been targeted by many external forces and mercenaries, in an attempt to weaken the united society, and during this period the thought and philosophy of the leader Abdullah Ocalan appeared. This thought was a model for resolving the region’s issues and a way to preserve unity and existence, and to chart the future for the components.”

Abdul Rahman said: "Today, we find within the ranks of the Syrian Democratic Forces the Kurds, Arabs and Syriacs united against all external dangers. We find that the institutions of the Autonomous Administration enjoy people's fraternity, and hands are joining together to develop it. We know that it is a model not only for Syria, but for the Middle East in general."

Sheikh Farhan explained: “There were attempts by some saboteurs and their supporters in Deir ez-Zor to create discord among the components, as well as attacks by the Turkish occupation army that coincided with them. These attempts and attacks were met with resistance and repelled by all components, and what was planned was foiled thanks to unity and the thought of leader Abdullah Ocalan.” ".

Sheikh Farhan stated that the saboteurs and some parties tried to exploit the absence of legitimate representatives of the Arab tribes, including the Tay tribe, and the establishment of the Tay tribe council came as a response and the organization of itself, and the Autonomous Administration and the military forces came as a response to these attempts.

On March 18, the Arab clans of the Tay tribe (Al-Yassar clan, Bani Sabaa, Al-Sayyida Al-Bu Salem, Al-Bu Assi, Al-Dhiabat, Al-Harith, Al-Sada Al-Maamara, Al-Ghanama, Al-Masharafa, Al-Dhiabat and Al-Assaf clans) announced the formation of a general council for the Tay tribe in Al-Jazira canton.

The head of the Tay Arab Tribe Council praised the amnesty issued by the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, and considered it a positive step. During the meeting, he asked the concerned authorities to grant an amnesty that includes those whose hands are not stained with blood, and stated: “Everyone is the son of this land, and it is our duty to guide them to the right path, so that they can be effective in society.”

  He called on all components of North and East Syria to adhere to the decisions of the Democratic Autonomous Administration, and said: "They are for the sake of organizing and developing society."
