Sweida Military Council announces control over most strategic axes

In a statement published on its official social media platform, the Sweida Military Council declared that its forces have taken control of most of the strategic axes in Sweida, affirming their unwavering stance on defending the rights of the people.

The statement began with condolences to the families of the victims, stating: “The Sweida Military Council extends its deepest condolences and sympathy to the families of our righteous martyrs who fell defending the soil of the homeland. Their pure blood will remain a beacon lighting the path to victory. We also wish a speedy recovery to the wounded.”

It added: “All the people of Sweida and the Badiyah are one people and united in fate. We are all ready to sacrifice for this sacred land. We are the people of this land and we believe in and defend coexistence with all our strength.”

The statement stressed their full control over most of the strategic axes in Sweida and the continuation of operations in other areas, adding: “The Military Council declares full control over most of the strategic axes in the region. Our brave forces continue their operations to clear some remaining limited points that are still witnessing clashes with extremist terrorist elements coming from areas such as Idlib and others. We are also facing fierce attacks by the terrorist organization ISIS from the direction of the desert.”

It continued: “The resistance on the ground is a genuine resistance that comes from the heart and mind. We will not accept any form of surrender or compromise on the rights of our people.”

In response to media disinformation campaigns, the statement clarified: “In light of the disgraceful media war waged by some parties in an attempt to distort our struggle, and due to communication outages in some areas, we affirm that there is free media that conveys the truth, and that the realities on the ground are the best evidence of our people's heroism and sacrifices.”

The Military Council confirmed coordination with “all factions and fighting fronts on the ground,” warning against “any attempt to create tensions or take unilateral military decisions.”

The statement concluded: “We cannot overlook the horrific massacres our region endured when extremist terrorist groups linked to what is called the transitional government entered. We declare this clearly and explicitly: we will not allow these crimes to be repeated, and we will not accept the presence of extremist forces on Sweida soil.”
