In response to calls that circulated last night following the killing of two young men, Hussein al-Youssef and Fadi al-Atram, the Homs countryside witnessed a general strike on Monday, including the closure of shops and stores, and the suspension of school classes.

ANHA correspondent reported that two young men were killed and a third was wounded in the town of Rableh, near the city of al-Qusayr, southwest of Homs, after being shot by anonymous gunmen on a motorcycle. In the result, two were killed instantly, and the third was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The strike took place in protest against the escalating violence and gunfire in the area, demanding security, safety, and the protection of civilians.

The organizers called on residents and the community to adhere to the strike and express their views peacefully to ensure the achievement of the local community's demands for security and stability.

Footage shows closed shops and deserted streets in both the city and the countryside.
