Stones stolen from Martyrs' Shrine in Manbij

Local sources in the city of Manbij reported that Turkish occupation mercenaries stole stones from the shrine of martyrs who died defending their city against ISIS mercenaries, in a flagrant violation of the sanctity and moral standing of martyrs.

The sources confirmed that these practices are not new, but rather part of a systematic policy pursued by the occupation and its mercenaries to undermine the symbols that embody the sacrifices of the people of the region.

Just as happened in the occupied city of Afrin, where the shrines of martyrs were subjected to deliberate vandalism and the theft of their stones, the occupation is repeating the same scene today in the occupied city of Manbij.

The Turkish occupation army and its affiliated mercenary groups occupied the city of Manbij and the surrounding villages and towns in December 2024. Immediately upon their entry, these forces began carrying out widespread looting and plundering, targeting thousands of shops, homes, and facilities. Although local residents denounced these practices, their calls fell on deaf ears and were completely ignored by the relevant authorities.
