Star Conference Council: empowering women role by slogan Jin ,Jiyan ,Azadî

The murder of the young Kurdish woman Jina Amini two years ago sparked widespread popular anger in Eastern Kurdistan and Iran, which quickly turned into a mass uprising led by women, demanding democracy and freedom throughout Iran and then the world.

A loud cry rose among women in Eastern Kurdistan and Iran, led by the slogan "Jin, Jiyan, Azadî", the slogan of the women's movement in Kurdistan, coined by Leader Abdullah Ocalan, and accompanied by widespread support, especially from women in Rojava and northeastern Syria.

Two years later, women's movements are still struggling to establish democracy and ensure women's freedom. In this context, Kongra Star Council member Berivan Younes evaluated the impact of the uprising on all women and its results.

At the beginning of her speech, Berivan Younes considered the spread of the slogan "Jin, Jiyan, Azadî" a call and a message to all women to break the chains and shackles of slavery established by authoritarian and exclusionary patriarchal regimes, which were the reason for the world's suffocation in crises and the targeting of women.

Berivan explained that capitalism launches a scathing attack on society to distance it from its social reality, and works to strengthen the bonds of liberalism and develop the concept of individual freedom. She said in this regard: “(The capitalist system) wants to change the social system, by spreading alien ideas and opinions in all aspects of life, and distancing societies from their true will.”

She stressed that the women’s uprising in Eastern Kurdistan based on the philosophy of “Woman, Life, Freedom” was the response to all the policies of the regimes that worked to distort the facts. She explained that this philosophy formulated by Leader Abdullah Ocalan indicates the relationship of women with nature and life, “It has a long history. Let this philosophy be a companion on the path of women’s struggle to build a free society.”

 “Women’s resistance, organizing events and activities, and all women’s support for the results after the uprising was the best response to all the policies of oppression and violence practiced against women and society,” said Berivan Younes, evaluating the support of women from all over the world for the women’s uprising in East Kurdistan and Iran.

 “Women rose up during the 21st century and chose a new philosophy, to say that they can get rid of the injustice and slavery practiced against them, and build a new generation that can live in peace and harmony, and ensure a life built on natural foundations,” she continued.

Two years after the outbreak of the “Women, Life, Freedom” uprising in Eastern Kurdistan and Iran and its global resonance, Berivan stressed that “the transmission of this uprising to the world is a message of salvation for all societies.”

"The revolution is on the right track"

Regarding what is required to raise the level of struggle, Berivan stressed that the uprising has achieved important results, and said in this regard: "Today, the slogan, "Jin, Jiyan, Azadi" is being chanted in various parts of the world, and everyone comes out and expresses their dissatisfaction when a woman is killed or when injustice and oppression are practiced against her. When women demonstrate in Rojava to support women in Eastern Kurdistan, and support women's protests in India over the killing of a female doctor, and when we see women inside Syria calling for the formation of their own councils and organizations, then we can say that the revolution is on the right track."

Before the revolution, women could not raise a banner to demand their rights, Berivan noted. Today, they have found alternatives and are proposing solutions, thanks to the women's revolution and the philosophy of "Jin, Jiyan, Azadi".

In conclusion, Star Congress Council member Berivan Younes called on all women to strengthen their "organization and arm themselves with science and knowledge, to build a life of equality based on partnership, and thus build a democratic family and revolutionary figures, through which we can protect our homeland and women's rights."
