Seminar in Hasaka emphasizes co-existence, women's role in building cohesive society

The Council of Religions and Beliefs in Hasaka organized a dialogue seminar on Tuesday at Hilal Zerin Center in the city center, entitled "Towards Sustainable Civil Peace (A Reading of Shared Religious Values)," with the participation of religious figures from various faiths and sects, Kurdish and Arab tribal leaders, community figures, and representatives of women's movements.

The seminar began with a speech delivered by Reverend Issa Shamoun of the Evangelical Christian Union Church, who discussed the principles of mercy and affection in Christianity and the importance of co-existence.

Leyla Mehmo, representing the Yazidi faith, reviewed the history of the Yazidi community and the circumstances it has experienced, emphasizing that civil peace is fundamental to building any homeland.

Walida Bouti; the administrator in the Women's Office of the Religions and Beliefs Council, stressed the importance of women's role and the necessity of strengthening and empowering women's movements in managing and building the future of Syria.

The seminar concluded with interventions from the attendees, which focused on the importance of accepting all religions and sects and promoting social cohesion, in addition to supporting the role of women as an essential part of consolidating civil peace.
