Security forces arrest a mercenary from ISIS cells in Deir-ez-Zor

The Media Center of the Internal Security Forces in the North and East of Syria region issued a statement today confirming the arrest of a mercenary from ISIS cells, stating:

"Our special forces and the General Security Service, with the support and assistance of the International Coalition, were able to arrest one of the elements of the ISIS terrorist organization cells north of Deir-ez-Zor, at dawn on Friday, February 21, as part of the ongoing security operations to maintain security and combat terrorism.

The operation came after accurate monitoring and follow-up by the General Security Service, where the location of the terrorist element involved in assassinations and the transfer of weapons and explosives was determined. As a result, our special forces carried out a precise raid on his location, which resulted in his arrest without recording any losses.

Our forces affirm their commitment to continue pursuing ISIS terrorist cells and the remnants of the former regime, and to work to achieve security and stability in all areas."
