Forces of the Syrian transitional government discovered a secret underground prison in an agricultural area near Abo Hakfa village of Homs northeastern countryside. It is suspected that it was used during the Baath regime's rule to detain and torture civilians, according to the official agency related to the government.

The agency explained that the discovered site resembles a cave, uninhabitable, and was used to detain women, men, and children in harsh conditions, according to its description. In addition, the forces are continuing to comb the area.

For their part, several residents of Abo Hakfa reported that the agricultural lands where the prison was found in belong to a mercenary of the "National Defense".
