SDF capture ISIS mercenary cell in Hasaka

In a statement today, the SDF revealed that their military operations teams dismantled a dangerous ISIS cell comprising three men and one woman. The statement read:

“Our military operations teams (TOL) of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) carried out a special and precise security operation in the city of Hasaka, aimed at dismantling a dangerous ISIS cell that was planning to carry out terrorist activities.

On August 14, after our forces gathered sufficient information about the movements of a security cell consisting of three individuals and a woman affiliated with the ISIS terrorist organization, they raided the locations where the cell was hiding in the neighborhoods of al-Nashwa and Ghuwayran in the city of Hasaka.

They managed to arrest the terrorist Ahmad Jalal Abdul Ghani, known as 'Abu Jalal,' who is from Aleppo, as well as the terrorist Ali Muhammad Musa, known as 'Abu al-Tayyib,' who is also from Aleppo. The third terrorist arrested was Omar Hamid Al-Issa, known as 'Abu Laith,' who is from Deir ez-Zor. Additionally, they captured a woman named Noor Muhammad Musa, known as 'Um Islam,' who is also from Aleppo and held a leadership position within an ISIS cell.

The terrorist cell that was captured had been gathering information and monitoring military points and headquarters belonging to our forces, particularly those surrounding the 'Al-Sina'a' prison in the Ghuwayran neighborhood of Hasaka city.

During the operation, our forces seized a quantity of explosive devices and detonation equipment that the terrorist cell had planned to use to carry out attacks against military points and service institutions.

Our forces affirm that their operations to pursue the remnants of ISIS terrorist cells will continue to strike at all their bases and eliminate their material and military resources. These efforts will persist with full force until they are eradicated from their roots.”
