SDC stresses importance of enhancing dialogue among all components

The representation of the Syrian Democratic Council in Germany and the Netherlands held a dialogue seminar in the Dutch city of Utrecht today, with the attendance of an elite of politicians and a group of the Syrian and Kurdish community, in addition to the leadership of the Third Independence Movement and representatives of the Syriac Union Party.

SDC representative in the Netherlands, Majed Kro, opened the seminar with a speech that addressed the latest developments in Syria after the fall of the Baath regime, stressing the importance of the role of Syrians in building a new Syria based on democracy and pluralism.

The co-chair of the Relations Office of the Syrian Democratic Council, Mr. Hassan Muhammad Ali, also spoke about the ongoing transformations in Syria, including the fall of the Assad regime and the meeting of the leadership of the Syrian Democratic Forces and the new authority in Damascus. He stressed the role of the regions of North and East Syria in preserving the unity of the country through the model of self-administration that enhances coexistence among the components of the Syrian people.

He also stressed the ongoing efforts to combat ISIS mercenaries, pointing to the achievements made by the Syrian Democratic Forces in confronting ISIS mercenaries, and their contribution to achieving regional stability.

He referred to the visit of the Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, to Hewler and his meeting with the head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, stressing the importance of strengthening the Kurdish-Kurdish dialogue within the framework of joint work to achieve stability and peace.

The head of the Third Independence Movement, Abdul Hakim Al-Khayrat, also addressed the situation in southern Syria and the need to move towards building a decentralized Syria, and not to allow the return of the same dictatorship again.

The symposium witnessed great interaction from the attendees, as various questions were raised about the future of the political process in Syria, and the role of the Syrian Democratic Council in achieving a comprehensive solution.

Some also inquired about the mechanisms for strengthening the unity of the Kurdish position, and the challenges facing the regions of North and East Syria in light of the ongoing security and political threats.

The attendees also praised the efforts of the Syrian Democratic Forces in confronting ISIS, calling for more international support for these efforts, in order to ensure security and stability in the region.

The symposium concluded by emphasizing the importance of strengthening the Syrian-Syrian dialogue, and working to build a national consensus that guarantees the rights of all Syrian components, and lays the foundation for a pluralistic, decentralized, democratic Syria.

The participants expressed their hope that such discussions would contribute to bringing viewpoints closer together, and unifying efforts to confront the challenges facing the country.
