The Sara Organization for Combating Violence Against Women strongly condemned the murders of women, emphasizing the need for the Feminist Movement to unite its efforts to confront all forms of gender-based violence.

This came in a statement issued by the organization on Sunday in front of its center in the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood of Aleppo, in the presence of representatives from several women's movements and organizations, following the murders of two young women in the city, according to the statement.

The statement indicated that the recurrence of these crimes threatens the cohesion of society and targets women under pretexts related to "customs and traditions" or as a result of the crises the region is experiencing, and the resulting pressures and tensions within families, which transform the home supposed to be a safe haven into a space where women may be exposed to danger.

The organization pointed out that some parties are seeking to exploit the chaos and instability to infringe upon women's right to life, stressing that the difficult circumstances the region is witnessing have contributed to the worsening of the living and social conditions.

The statement addressed the murders of two young women in Aleppo, emphasizing that the circumstances surrounding their deaths raise serious suspicions and require thorough investigations to ensure justice. It stressed the need to reject any practices that justify or attempt to cover up violence.

The organization called on all women to unite and raise their voices against all forms of violence, asserting that confronting these cases requires community cooperation, organization, and education that reinforces the principles of a democratic family and a just, violence-free society.
