In a statement, the Independent Writers and Journalists Union "RONUS" demanded financial and moral compensation for journalist Suleiman Ahmed after his release. The statement read:

"After more than 450 days of detention, journalist Suleiman Ahmed, who was arrested in October 2023 and remained without news for 211 days, has been released. There was no document proving his involvement in any illegal activities, yet he was sentenced to three years in prison.

We congratulate journalist Suleiman Ahmed and RojNews Agency, and we call on the court to clarify how he was imprisoned for 454 days without any confirmed document proving his guilt. Professional ethics, respect for judicial standards, and human rights necessitate that journalist Suleiman Ahmed be compensated both financially and morally."
