Earlier today, following their departure from Raqqa, the people of Jazira Canton completed their journey back after participating in protests at the Tishrin Dam, alongside residents from the Raqqa, Tabqa, and Deir ez-Zor regions.

The returning protesters were greeted by the residents of Jazira Canton’s cities with slogans honoring their resistance, the bravery of the SDF, and commemorating the martyrs of the struggle.

The Turkish occupation forces had bombarded protesters from Jazira Canton at the Tishrin Dam on January 21, leading to the martyrdom of Muhyiddin Omar and Khazna Abdi, and injuring 20 others.

The convey returned with the bodies of the martyrs, accompanied by injured civilians, some of whom were transported to hospitals in Hasaka upon reaching their hometowns.

Since January 8, the residents of North and East Syria have been protesting at the Tishrin Dam in condemnation of Turkish aggression and in solidarity with the SDF. However, these protests were repeatedly targeted by Turkish forces, resulting in civilian casualties.
