Residents of Kobani demand release of detainees

The city of Kobani witnessed an event organized by the Martyrs’ Families Council in “Free Woman Square,” calling for the release of detainees held by the Syrian Interim Government.

The Martyrs’ Families Council in Kobani organized the event under the slogan: “We want our martyrs, our detainees, and our missing.” Families of detainees held by the Syrian Interim Government participated.

Participants carried photos of the detainees.

The event began with a moment of silence, followed by a speech delivered by Farhad Kobani on behalf of the detainees’ families, in which he said: “We bow in respect to the souls of the martyrs and the families of the detainees.”

Farhan Kobani noted that the January 29 agreement included a clause stipulating the release of all detainees and their return to their homes and children. However, he stated that the Syrian Interim Government has not implemented this and is acting according to its own interests.

He emphasized that the main demand is the immediate release of all detainees.

The event concluded with chants: “Freedom for the detainees.”
