Residents of Hasakah reaffirm their support for SDF; their readiness to join the resistance

After the heroic battles waged by the Internal Security Forces in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods of Aleppo, residents of Hasakah city reaffirmed their continued support for the SDF and their commitment to them as a force protecting their existence. They expressed their readiness to join the ranks of the resistance to defend their historical land and their right to live in dignity and security.

In this context, ANHA agency conducted a number of interviews with residents of Hasakah city, during which they expressed their support for the Syrian Democratic Forces and the resistance in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods.

Citizen Ahmed Abdul Hanan said, "Life is not a small price to pay. Our martyrs chose this path without hesitation, and this in itself is the greatest victory for the Kurdish people." He emphasized their complete readiness to confront any attack that might target the region, adding, "If an attack is launched against us today, I am certain that our people, from the youngest to the oldest, will take up arms and defend their land."

Abdul Hanan pointed out that the duty incumbent upon the people of the region, especially the Kurdish people who have lived there since time immemorial, is to prepare for any future war. He asserted that "the war that may be imposed upon us is a war of existence or non-existence," emphasizing that surrender is no longer an option and that defending the land is a priority that takes precedence over everything else.

Speaking about supporting the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Abdul Hanan said, "The SDF are our brothers and sisters; the SDF are us. We are not talking about a foreign force or mercenaries who came from other countries, but rather about the people of this region, both Kurds and Arabs. For us, the SDF is a matter of existence or annihilation, and we believe in this force and its leadership. We will support any decision it makes."

For his part, citizen Aras Hussein stressed the necessity of embracing and supporting the military force in the region during this critical phase, explaining that "the SDF is our very existence, and without it, we would not be here today."

He added that recent events have created some sensitivity and unease among the people, which is understandable, "but this should not affect our support for this force." “He protected us,” he said, expressing his conviction that if any new attack were launched on the region, the entire population would join the SDF, affirming their pledge not to abandon their land and to continue supporting the forces defending it.

Aras Hussein addressed the martyrdom of commander Ziad Halab, stating that his death paved a new path for resistance. He said, “A hundred more Ziads have been born. His martyrdom was deeply painful for us, and we will never forget him.”

For her part, citizen Sarah Mohammed emphasized the importance of supporting the Syrian Democratic Forces and amplifying the voices of the people to the world, saying, “We must support our SDF forces, and we will work to spread this message everywhere. The SDF is our dignity.”

Citizen Dilsoz Ibrahim also spoke, recalling the words of martyr Ziad Halab, saying, "Just as martyr Ziad said he was indebted to his people, we too are indebted to your struggle and heroic resistance." He added that the youth of the region strongly condemn the massacres perpetrated in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods, emphasizing that "the Kurdish people will not disappear and will remain supportive of their forces."

At the conclusion of the meeting, he affirmed that there are attempts by hostile parties to promote the idea that the people do not support the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), but the people have confirmed that reality proves otherwise. He said, "Just as our forces defend and protect us, we will also stand by them, defend them, and support them with all that we possess."

He added, "The epic battle that took place in Sheikh Maqsoud, where 300 of our forces stood against the Turkish state and its mercenaries, confirms our steadfastness. We, in turn, say: Any attacks launched against us will be met with the presence of the Syrian Democratic Forces here, and you will be defeated. The interim government will fall in this war."

Residents pointed out that the epic stand taken by the Internal Security Forces and the people of Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in repelling the attacks launched by the mercenaries of the Turkish-backed interim government sends a clear message that these areas will not be an easy target for any aggression, and that any attempt to repeat such attacks will be met with a stronger popular will and resistance, drawing its strength from the unity of the people with their defending forces.
