Residents: leader’s physical freedom is gateway to comprehensive democratic solution

The residents of Girkê Legê in al-Jazira Canton voiced their discontent and rejection of the ongoing isolation imposed on Abdullah Ocalan, considering the insistence on it as a political stance hostile to the will of the people.

Citizen Ibrahim Ali said that “the isolation imposed on Leader Abdullah Ocalan is not merely a restriction of freedom; it targets a set of ideas that carry a democratic solution project.”

He added: “We reject this inhumane behavior and demand the lifting of the isolation. The leader’s freedom is not only a political demand, but a human necessity for everyone who believes in peoples’ right to self-determination.”

He emphasized that “direct communication with him is a fundamental demand because he represents an intellectual symbol for an entire people. Lifting the isolation and achieving his physical freedom are essential to ending repressive policies in the region and serve as a gateway toward a comprehensive democratic solution.”

For his part, citizen Saeed Youssef said that “the purpose of the isolation is to silence a voice that carries a project of peace and justice.”

He stated: “It is the people’s right to know the fate of their leader and communicate with him. What the Turkish state is doing violates international laws, and we will not back down from the demand for his physical freedom, as it is the path to stability in the region.”

He added: “The continuation of the isolation violates our right to communicate with our intellectual and political symbol. Our message is clear: the leader’s freedom is a human necessity before being a political one.”

Meanwhile, citizen Noila Haji affirmed that “the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan is an urgent need for achieving stability in the Middle East.”

She pointed out that “the continuation of the isolation complicates any efforts aimed at achieving peace, and lifting it is not a choice but a human and political obligation.”

She added that “this step could serve as a real entry point for launching a peace process in the region, and that the leader’s physical freedom is the key to opening the door to solutions and ending conflicts.”
