Rejection more than 16 requests to meet leader Ocalan

The Turkish occupation state continues to impose strict isolation on Leader Abdullah Ocalan, since his arrest in an international conspiracy in 1999, and since March 25, 2021, it has not allowed his lawyer and family to meet him, or speak to him by phone.

In order to meet with Leader Abdullah Ocalan, the lawyers of the Al-Asr Human Rights Office submit two requests every week to the Public Prosecutor’s Office in the Turkish city of Bursa and the Imrali Prison Directorate. His family also submits two requests every week, for a total of 16 requests every month, without receiving any response, indicating its refusal to meet him.

It is noteworthy that the last meeting with the leader was held by his lawyers, Rezan Sarıga and Newroz Uysal, on August 7, 2019, while his last contact with the outside world was on March 25, 2021, during a phone call with his brother Muhammad Ocalan for 5 minutes, then the call was cut off.

Leader Abdullah Ocalan has been detained for more than 24 years in Imrali Island prison, following an international conspiracy carried out by international and regional forces, in 1999.

In the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, and handed him over to the Turkish occupation state on February 15 of the same year.
