Raqqa Stadium is decorated for Newroz celebrants

In preparation for celebrating Newroz this year, the preparatory committee is working to decorate the celebration square in Raqqa Municipal Stadium, in which pictures of Leader Abdullah Ocalan and the flags of the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Internal Security Forces are hung.

The central celebration in Raqqa canton will begin tomorrow at 10 am, under the slogan “Freedom for Abdullah Ocalan, the solution to the Kurdish issue.”

Regarding the preparations in the celebration arena, a member of the preparatory committee, Fayrouz Khalil, said, after congratulating all the peoples of the world and the people of North and East Syria in particular, on the occasion of Newroz, that the preparations had ended, and she called on the people to participate with momentum in the celebration.

Since the Syrian crisis, the components of Raqqa canton celebrated the first Newroz in 2019 after the Syrian Democratic Forces liberated the city of Raqqa from ISIS mercenaries in 2017.

It is worth noting that the first celebration of Newroz in the city of Raqqa was in 1986 by the Kurdish component and some freedom fighters in the ancient Baya Hill, east of the city of Raqqa.
