Qamishlo.. Women's protest kicks off 

A large protest organized by the Kongra Star began a short while ago in the city of Qamishli, in the indoor hall next to the Haytham Kajo Stadium, to mark International Women's Day. The protest saw wide participation from women of the city and families of prisoners held by the Syrian Democratic Forces.

This year's commemoration of International Women's Day comes amidst exceptional circumstances in the Rojava region, following attacks launched by factions of the Syrian Interim Government. This has given the event a protest character and conveyed clear political and humanitarian messages.

During the protest, the slogan "With the philosophy of women, life, and freedom, we protect the gains of the women's revolution" was raised. Hundreds of women gathered, carrying pictures of their imprisoned sons and banners demanding information about their fate and their immediate release.

The participants chanted slogans demanding justice for the prisoners, an end to the injustice against them, and the disclosure of their fate. They emphasized the urgent need for their release and the removal of their shackles so they can return to their families.

The participants also held up banners with slogans such as, "We want our imprisoned brother" and "Bring back our imprisoned sons."

The women wore green scarves emblazoned with "Women, Life, Freedom," a scene reflecting the determination of women in Rojava to continue their struggle and defend the gains of the women's revolution.

Several speeches are scheduled to be delivered by the participants during the protest.
