Qamishlo residents commemorate martyrs of western neighborhood bombing

Families of the victims gathered at the site of the bombing in the afternoon, carrying photographs of their loved ones. A memorial ceremony is held at the site every year to honour their memory.

Photos of the 62 victims were displayed at the memorial site alongside candles and flowers.

After a minute of silence, Ammar Mousa, a member of the Martyrs' Families Council, addressed the gathering, paying tribute to the victims of the massacre and to all the martyrs of Kurdistan.

"Our civilian sons and daughters were killed by terrorism supported by Turkey in an attempt to break our people's will," he said. "Throughout history, our Kurdish people have faced numerous attacks, yet they have continued to raise the banner of freedom and struggle, sacrificing their lives for it while refusing to submit to occupying states and authorities."

He added, "The Kurdish people are a noble people, and through the path of martyrdom they have built a new life."

The ceremony concluded with participants lighting candles and chanting slogans honouring the victims.

From the bombing site, attendees proceeded to the Martyr Delil Sarukhan Shrine, where they paid tribute to the sacrifices of the victims and reaffirmed their commitment to continuing their path.
