Qamishlo rally calls for release of leader Ocalan

Organized by the People’s Initiative and the Syrian Initiative for the Freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan, thousands participated in a massive rally in Qamishlo, calling on Turkish authorities to take urgent measures to release leader Abdullah Ocalan under the slogan "Freedom for Leader Abdullah Ocalan, a Solution to the Kurdish Issue."

The rally began at Osman Sabri Roundabout, with protesters carrying pictures of Leader Abdullah Ocalan. They marched through the city’s main street, chanting slogans in support of leader Ocalan, including "With our soul, with our blood, we sacrifice for you, leader" and "No life without the Leader."

The rally paused at Martyr Robar Roundabout in the city center, where it turned into a public gathering that began with a minute of silence to honor the martyrs.

During the gathering, Shahi Khalil, the member of the People’s Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan in Qamishlo, stated: "The call for peace and a democratic society put forward by leader Abdullah Ocalan 120 days ago will undoubtedly be the key to a solution in the Middle East. This call will serve as a shield to protect all peoples and ethnicities."

Shahi expressed regret that leader Abdullah Ocalan remains detained in Imrali Prison, saying: "Unfortunately, the owner of this philosophy and this project is still imprisoned, and to this day, the Turkish state has not disclosed the reason for his continued detention."

Shahi urged the Turkish authorities to take urgent steps to ensure the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan and to allow peace and democratic society committees to carry out their work within the Turkish parliament.
