PYD's Aldar Khalil: Leader Ocalan’s imprisonment proves conspiracy still ongoing

In the 27th anniversary of the international conspiracy against leader Abdullah Ocalan, Aldar Khalil, the member of the Presidential Committee of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), stated that the leader and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) have taken historic steps to resolve existing problems, but the Turkish state has yet to make any meaningful move. 

Khalil said that the region is undergoing deep transformations, and every political power must adopt an approach that matches these developments. Referring to political tensions in Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, and Iran, he warned that “these changes will also affect Turkey. If Turkey fails to solve its internal issues, it will face a greater crisis for the next century.”

He added that Turkish authorities met with leader Ocalan amid ongoing regional conflicts and internal crises. “Some Turkish officials seem to seek short-term tactical gains to preserve their power ahead of elections. But any approach to the Kurdish issue based on personal or temporary calculations will be narrow and short-sighted. The Kurdish question remains Turkey’s main problem. Will they finally move toward a genuine solution based on the new regional balance?”

Superficial and Tactical Approaches

Khalil emphasized that temporary and narrow approaches toward leader Ocalan will only harm Turkey. “If they are truly loyal to their country, they must listen to leader Ocalan,” he said, noting that leader Ocalan’s model offers a framework to solve the Kurdish question and rebuild Turkey according to the new regional balance.

“His philosophy also provides solutions for the crises of the Middle East. This is an opportunity for Turkey, but unfortunately, we see that many Turkish institutions and officials are not serious enough. How can they claim to shape their destiny for the next century while the architect of the solution remains imprisoned and unable to negotiate freely?”

Turkey Is Deceiving Itself

Khalil pointed out that leader Ocalan’s conditions in prison have not improved and that the parliamentary committee supposedly formed to address the Kurdish question has not yet convened. “The committee was meant to listen to the founder of the peace project and establish the basis for a new process, but this never happened. Turkey is deceiving itself if it thinks it can endure without adopting a new approach and ensuring leader Ocalan’s physical freedom.”

 PKK Took a Historic Step, But Turkey Did Not

Khalil further stated that the PKK has taken a historic step toward peace and confidence-building with its struggle, but “the Turkish state has not reciprocated.” He noted that “the Kurdish people trust both the PKK and leader Ocalan, who has called on Turkey to make necessary changes. This applies not only to Turkey but to all Middle Eastern countries. The leader and the PKK have a clear vision for solving the region’s crises, including the Palestinian issue.”

Leader Ocalan’s Imprisonment Is Evidence that Conspiracy Continues

Khalil affirmed that the international conspiracy against the leader is still ongoing, saying: “If the conspiracy had succeeded in achieving its goals, the entire region would have been thrown into deeper chaos. Thanks to leader Ocalan’s intellectual and strategic approach, the conspiracy failed to reach its aim. Its continuation is evident in the fact that leader Ocalan remains imprisoned, the Kurdish question unsolved, and the Middle East still in crisis. The powers that orchestrated his arrest thought they had secured a victory, but the leader turned that situation into an opportunity to advance a solution for the peoples of the Middle East.”

Aldar Khalil affirmed that the conspiratorial powers are still active, while leader Ocalan has been guiding the path toward a solution for 27 years.

He said: “The Leader has presented numerous defenses, projects, ideas, and proposals, offering a new model that thwarted the conspiracy. Any lasting solution must be based on his model and proposals; otherwise, the crises in the Middle East will persist. To completely defeat the conspiracy, the fundamental condition is the realization of the Leader’s freedom and the implementation of his project in practice.”
