PYD held a public meeting in Derbasiya to discuss the situation in Syria

The Democratic Union Party (PYD) held a public meeting in the Komin Shahid Duran neighborhood of Derbasiya. The meeting, attended by residents and members of local institutions and councils, addressed the latest developments and the situation in Syria, as well as the integration and governance process.

The meeting began with a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs and in recognition of their sacrifices in protecting the region and defending the gains of its people.

During the meeting, Suleiman Khalil, co-chair of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), emphasized that the current phase requires maintaining unity and building a democratic future that guarantees the rights of all communities. He noted that four military brigades have been formed under the new arrangements, clarifying that the administrative institutions will continue to operate as before, without change.

Khalil added that the integration process will be based on democratic and participatory principles, stating, “Ten from them and ten from us,” while preserving the administration of the region and its people. He affirmed that “the blood of the martyrs and their sacrifices will not be in vain.”

He stressed the importance of holding onto the land and protecting the gains of the people, saying, “We will not abandon our lands, and we must build a homeland where everyone lives in security, stability, and coexistence.”

At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants emphasized the importance of strengthening the spirit of brotherhood and coexistence among all communities and working together to maintain the security and stability of the region. They stressed the necessity of dialogue and unity during this critical phase that Syria is going through
