Protesters at Tishrin Dam pledge continued resistance against Turkish occupation

These assaults, which have persisted for 44 days, have galvanized the local population, who insist they will not back down until the attacks are halted and the dam is secured.

For the 45th consecutive day, protests continue at Tishrin Dam, where local residents voice their rejection of Turkish military aggression and its affiliated mercenaries, which have been targeting the area since December 8. Protesters view the dam as a "symbol of resilience and pride" and stress their commitment to defending it.

In interviews by ANHA agency, protester Avin Abbas affirmed the continuation of demonstrations, stating: "We pledge to sustain our resistance and support the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). We are here to protect our dam, which has been safeguarded with the blood of our martyrs." She further emphasized that Turkey’s attacks aim to "break the will of the Syrian people, but they will not succeed."

Similarly, protester Hamdi Asaad highlighted the significance of defending the homeland, affirming that they will persist in their demonstrations to protect the dam. He declared:

"Tishrin Dam has been safeguarded with the blood of our martyrs, and we will defend it with our own."

Another protester, Hendrin Mohammed, reinforced the message of continued resistance, stating: "Many of our people have sacrificed to prevent the dam’s occupation. It is our duty to honor their struggle and continue supporting our forces."

Beyond defending the dam from Turkish occupation and its allied mercenaries, these protests also seek to draw international attention to their rejection of foreign intervention. Demonstrators are determined to mobilize global opinion against ongoing aggression, reaffirming their commitment to security and peace in their region.
