Families of prisoners held by the SIG and residents of Qamishlo held a protest today in front of the UNHCR building in Qamishlo, demanding the release of their sons and information about their fate.

The protesters held up pictures of their imprisoned sons and banners demanding their freedom and information about their fate. They chanted slogans such as "We want our prisoners," "Long live the prisoners' resistance," and "Freedom for the prisoners."

The January 29 agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian Interim Government stipulates a phased exchange of prisoners between the two sides. Four batches of prisoners have been released: the first on March 10, the second on March 19, the third on April 11, and the fourth on May 8. During these releases, 1,032 prisoners held by the Syrian Interim Government were freed.
