Reactions continue to pour in regarding the agreement signed between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian Interim Government on January 30. The agreement included a comprehensive ceasefire and an understanding on a phased integration of military and administrative forces between the two sides.

In this context, our agency met with several political figures in the city of Derbasiya in al-Jazira canton. Ahmed Suleiman, a member of the Academy of Democratic Society in Derbasiya, confirmed that the agreement is clear and safeguards the rights of all communities.

He explained that implementing this agreement requires the cooperation of all parties and joint action to ensure it serves the interests of the people. He warned against attempts by some to sow sectarian strife among the various groups, stressing the need for awareness and vigilance against these attempts, and the importance of respecting differences and coexistence.

Suleiman emphasized the necessity of blocking the path for anyone seeking to undermine the agreement, noting the importance of all groups accepting one another and protecting their mutual rights. He considered this agreement to have closed the door on bloodshed and a positive step towards stability and peace.

He pointed out that the general mobilization is still ongoing, requiring everyone to remain highly aware of what is happening around them to avoid any potential mistakes. He also indicated that the Kurdish people's unity and solidarity in various regions have yielded positive results and contributed to changing international positions in favor of the Kurdish cause, affirming that the Kurds have not and will not accept the genocide of the Kurdish people in Rojava.

He concluded by emphasizing that the world now recognizes the existence of a people demanding peace and freedom, united within the Kurdish community. He noted that the Kurdish people took up arms to defend themselves against attempts at genocide, and warned of the escalating nature of the war, particularly the media war that has been intensified against the Kurds recently.

For his part, Saud Maish, a member of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) council, affirmed that the agreement came at the right time, especially after the attempts at genocide against the Kurdish people following the failure of the March 10th agreement.

He explained that the Turkish state played a direct role in sabotaging the March 10th agreement, aiming to eliminate the Autonomous Administration. He pointed to ongoing attempts to undermine any agreement that serves the stability of the region.

He stressed the need for the Kurdish people to be aware of the nature of this war, particularly the media war, which he described as a psychological war being waged against the Kurds at this stage. He stated that Kurdish unity was the primary reason for preventing the genocide of the Kurdish people, describing it as a historic stance.

He concluded by affirming his confidence in the Kurdish leadership and the necessity of further strengthening Kurdish unity in the coming phase, emphasizing that rights are obtained through the will and unity of the people, and that the strength of the Kurdish position lies in solidarity and unity.

For her part, political figure Badia Arabo stated that they support the signed agreement and considered the agreed-upon terms a significant victory for them, especially given the sensitive phase the region is going through.

Badia Arabo explained that there is criticism directed at the issue of integration, but stressed the need to view the agreement from a national, non-sectarian perspective, emphasizing that there is no difference between Syrians, and that dialogue, negotiations, and political discussion are the correct way to resolve differences, not resorting to war.

She affirmed that the people's rights are preserved within this agreement, noting the importance of the people being aware that the resistance continues, but that this phase requires great wisdom, and that outstanding issues should be resolved through political and peaceful means. Badia Arabo also warned against the media war being waged alongside the enemy's war, which aims to break the morale and spirit of the people. She called for following only national media and not being swayed by rumors.

She concluded by emphasizing that the solutions reached today were achieved through the blood of the martyrs, and that these sacrifices are what brought the people to this pivotal stage.
