Political, military developments in Rojava discussed during meeting in Ad-Derbasiya

The Democratic Union Party (PYD) held a large meeting in the city of Ad-Derbasiya to discuss the latest political and military developments in the region. Participants included residents of the city, representatives of civil institutions and local councils, youth and women's movements, representatives of political parties, tribal leaders, writers, and intellectuals.

The meeting was held in the Ivan Hall in the village of Aziziyah, near Ad-Derbasiya, and began with a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs of the Rojava Revolution.

During the meeting, Aldar Khalil, a member of the Presidential Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), reviewed the most prominent political developments in the region, discussing the movement's trajectory since the Rojava Revolution began on July 19, 2012. He noted that the party adopted the "democratic nation" approach and worked to build a democratic system in North and East Syria.

Khalil addressed the period of conflict the region witnessed in recent years during the Syrian crisis, which began in 2011, stating that the Middle East saw competition among multiple political and regional projects. He said that the Kurdish forces in North and East Syria sought to adopt a path based on coexistence among the various communities and to build a participatory administrative model.

He also highlighted the role played by the region's forces in confronting ISIS mercenaries in recent years, considering that period a significant turning point in the region's political and military trajectory.

In his remarks, Khalil addressed the rapidly evolving regional developments in the Middle East, pointing out that the region is experiencing a new phase of tensions and conflicts. He also referred to the calls by leader Abdullah Ocalan to avoid escalation and war. Khalil emphasized that the political forces in North and East Syria are committed to continuing dialogue, implementing understandings and agreements with other parties, and working to maintain stability in the region.

This meeting is part of a series of meetings held by political and community forces in cities across North and East Syria, primarily the Democratic Union Party (PYD), to discuss political and military developments and their impact on the local situation in the region.
