PKK: condemns conspiracy forces, stresses strengthening participation in global campaign for leader

The Executive Committee of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) strongly condemned, through a written statement, the international conspiracy that began on October 9, 1998 with the departure of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Ocalan from Syria. The statement recalled the "Freedom for Ocalan, the Political Solution to the Kurdish Issue" campaign on its second anniversary, saying: "We condemn the conspiracy once again, and remember the great martyrs in the great struggle for 26 years against the conspiracy with all respect. We also call on our people and friends, especially women and youth, to increase and expand their participation in the activities of the second year of the campaign."

The statement of the PKK Executive Committee was as follows: “We are passing the 26th anniversary of the international conspiracy on October 9, 1998, which aimed to eliminate Leader APO, liquidate the PKK, and complete the genocide against the Kurds. The Global Freedom Campaign, which is the final planned stage of the great struggle that has been going on for 26 years against the conspiracy and aims to physically free Leader APO, has completed its first year and is entering its second year. The conspiratorial powers led by the United States have turned the Middle East into a lake of blood with their attacks for 26 years. The 26-year struggle for freedom and democracy that our people and friends have been waging under the leadership of Leader APO has illuminated our future and given hope to all humanity.

On this basis, we condemn the international conspiracy of October 9 once again on its 26th anniversary, and call on all conspiratorial forces to review these cruel policies that constitute grave crimes against humanity. We salute Leader APO’s historical stance and his unique resistance against the conspiratorial attack for 26 years, and we emphasize that we will always take this line of victory as our foundation. We salute the great struggle that our people and friends, led by women and youth, have been waging against the conspiracy for 26 years. We salute everyone who participates in the global freedom campaign aimed at the physical freedom of Leader APO and the solution of the Kurdish issue in its second year, and we wish them success. We remember all the martyrs of the “You Cannot Block Our Sun” resistance who sacrificed themselves against the October 9 conspiracy, and tens of thousands of our martyrs, from comrades Halit Ural and Aynur Artan to comrade Dersim Nurhak, a member of the PKK Central Committee, with respect, love and gratitude, and we emphasize that we will completely defeat the attack of the international conspiracy and the torture and genocide regime. In Imrali and the genocide, through the struggle for freedom and democracy that we are waging on the line of the Leader and the martyrs.

There is no doubt that our party and guerrillas have shown the greatest resistance against the conspiracy led by Leader APO. Our party cadres and patriots have developed a completely self-sacrificing resistance under the slogan “You cannot block our sun” for 26 years. The HPG and YJA fighters have made historical epics of resistance in all the Mediya Defense Zones, especially in Zap, and throughout Kurdistan. By renewing themselves and developing coordinated teams in the tunnels, they have turned the Mediya Defense Zones into a graveyard for the fascist army of the AKP and MHP. Today, the heroic operations carried out by the Kurdistan Freedom Fighters defeat the fascist genocidal forces and become a source of morale and enthusiasm for all forces of freedom and democracy.

The Global Freedom Campaign, which is the final planned phase of the great struggle that has been going on for 26 years against the conspiracy, has clearly shown us that victory is possible and close with its first year of struggle. The fascism of the AKP and the MHP and the Turkish system under its rule have reached their end. It has become clear that with it, the system and the anti-Kurdish mentality cannot implement the policies of fascism, occupation and genocide. Neither their friends nor the people can accept this mentality and this system. Therefore, the way has been opened for a democratic Turkey and a democratic Middle East based on the freedom of the Kurdish people. It is time to ensure the physical freedom of Leader APO. The recent discussions and developments on the legal and political levels clearly show this.

Therefore, the second year of the Global Freedom Campaign must be managed with this approach, with the aim of achieving victory and final results. Any approach or stance other than this is neither correct nor sufficient. Then, as a whole movement, as individuals, friends, guerrillas, women's and youth movements, let us develop our struggle in every area on the basis of achieving this goal! Let us spread the Global Freedom Campaign, which aims for the physical freedom of Leader APO, in every area, and let us escalate and strengthen it with a general mobilization! Let us make this campaign fruitful with new and rich ways of activities! Let us not be those who stop and retreat, but always be those who advance! Let us ensure the physical freedom of Leader APO in the second year of the campaign!

In this regard, we once again condemn the conspiracy, once again remember the heroic martyrs who have waged the great struggle for 26 years against the conspiracy, and call on all our people and friends, especially women and youth, to strengthen and expand their participation in the activities of the second year of the campaign.
