Members of the Movement for a Democratic Society (TEV-DEM), the Future Syria Party, and the Women's Council at the Democratic Islam Conference spoke to our agency about the appeal launched by Leader Abdullah Ocalan and the realization of the right to hope and an end to isolation.

Khaled Bakr, a member of the Future Syria Party, pointed out that the Kurdish movement has taken numerous steps to achieve peace since Leader Abdullah Ocalan launched his appeal, while the Turkish state has not taken any serious steps, even regarding the issue of prisoners of conscience. Bekir pointed to the 26-year imprisonment of leader Abdullah Ocalan, saying, "We know the main reason for the international conspiracy. Leader Abdullah Ocalan presented his views and models for the future of the Middle East and its people. The Turkish state fears the leader's model, but it has not and will not prevail with this mentality."

"The PKK's steps are historic." Khalid Bekir stated that the leader built a new life inside prison and presented new concepts for the entire Middle East. These concepts, along with his model, were strengthened day by day until they reached their peak, and they are now evident in the changes and transformations in the Middle East.

Bekir continued, saying, "The PKK has taken several practical steps to achieve peace following Leader Abdullah Ocalan's call, but the Turkish state's stance has remained negative. The first thing that must be done in response to the historic steps taken to establish peace is to release the leader." "The problems will be solved by the freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan."

Khaled Bakr added, "In my opinion, if this process fails, it will have repercussions within Turkey. Therefore, the Turkish state must change its system at this stage. Leader Abdullah Ocalan must be given the right to hope, as this is everyone's right, and his physical freedom must be guaranteed as soon as possible. The Turkish state must take the necessary steps to serve the interests of Turkey and the entire Middle East. Leader Abdullah Ocalan is taking these steps for the sake of all oppressed peoples, not just the Kurdish people, so that world peace may prevail." The Right to Hope

Aziza Hasso, a member of the Women's Council of the Democratic Islam Conference, stressed the necessity for the Turkish state to take serious steps to secure the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan. She stated, "The issue of the leader's physical freedom should not remain merely a symbolic gesture. The Turkish state must take serious steps to achieve peace. The right to hope is a legitimate right for the leader, and granting him this right is fundamental to this process. The Kurdish liberation movement has taken numerous steps towards peace, and now it is the Turkish state's turn. The leader's freedom will guarantee the success of the process."

"The Time Has Come for the Physical Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan"

Fikret Abdalo, co-chair of the Union of Classes, emphasized that the time has come for the leader's physical freedom. She pointed out that the Turkish state has not taken any steps in this regard so far, saying, "Meeting with the leader and conveying his messages is insufficient. Engaging in the peace process, guaranteeing the right to hope, and ending his isolation, all require his physical freedom." "Leader Abdullah Ocalan has turned Imrali prison into a fortress of resistance."

Hamdi, a member of the Movement for a Democratic Society (TEV-DEM), explained that it is the duty of the Kurdish people to continue the struggle in the streets for the physical freedom of their leader. His time for freedom has come, he continued, saying, "Leader Abdullah Ocalan has turned Imrali prison into a fortress of resistance. He is free even in prison, but he is physically detained. We are training in his thought and philosophy."
