People of Deir ez-Zor: National unity is our shield against massacres

Amid the challenges facing Syria, citizens across the country are reaffirming their commitment to national unity and their rejection of all attempts to destabilize security and stability.

In this context, citizen Saeed al-Hamoud said: “We cling to national unity, as it is the protective shield for everyone. We know well that these criminal schemes target us at our core before anyone else. We are fully aware of those behind them and their attempts to destabilize Syria.”

Al-Hamoud called on all people across the country to unite, stay aware, and stand together like one body to build a safe and stable homeland. He affirmed their readiness to remain steadfast in the face of terrorism and its desperate attempts to break their will.

Meanwhile, Khalif Al-Hamdan, a resident of al-Furat town in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor canton, emphasized that the sacrifices made by the people, especially the martyrs, impose a sacred duty on everyone: to protect the land and not give up a single inch of it.

He added “Our people have proven by resisting ISIS/Daesh mercenaries and those who supported them that the will to live and to be free is stronger than all the challenges of death and destruction.”

Al-Hamdan continued “Today, we honor the sacrifices of the martyrs and prepare to build our future towards a democratic, pluralistic, and decentralized Syria. We appreciate all the efforts made in pursuit of freedom and dignity.”

He stressed the importance of focusing on the upcoming phase as one of reconstruction and reconciliation. He called for drafting a just constitution that guarantees the rights of all citizens, ensures equality and justice, and prevents the repetition of the massacres and tragedies that Syrians have endured.

Al-Hamdan concluded by rejecting the ongoing suffering of the people and expressing frustration over the devastating impact of war on daily life. He affirmed that the only path to a solution lies in peaceful dialogue and inclusive national consensus among all tribes and communities leading to a new, united, strong, and safe Syria for everyone.
