Operation “Humanity and Security” concludes with arrest of 11 ISIS mercenaries

The Media Center of the Internal Security Forces in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria issued a statement today announcing the conclusion of the latest phase of the “Humanity and Security” operation in al-Hol Camp, stating:

“The Internal Security Forces, Women’s Internal Security Forces, Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), with the support of the Syrian Democratic Forces and the International Coalition, announce the completion of the new phase of the ‘Humanity and Security’ operation in al-Hol Camp.

This phase continues our ongoing efforts to confront the threat posed by ISIS cells, which have recently sought to destabilize security inside the camp and target civilians as well as humanitarian workers.

The campaign has achieved significant results, most notably:

The dismantling of active terrorist networks operating within the camp.

The arrest of 11 individuals affiliated with ISIS.

The thwarting of several attempts to target humanitarian and service facilities.

The execution of precise night operations against terrorist hideouts, which resulted in the destruction of dangerous cells planning attacks against our forces, and the limitation of ISIS cells’ movements within and around the camp.

The operation has also contributed to enhancing coordination with humanitarian organizations and ensuring the safe continuation of their missions, in addition to providing a more stable environment for the camp’s residents.

We emphasize that the support of the Syrian Democratic Forces and our partners in the International Coalition played a vital role in the progress achieved in the ‘Humanity and Security’ operation. We affirm that our battle against terrorism continues, and that protecting civilians and meeting their humanitarian needs remain at the core of our priorities until ISIS’s attempts to regenerate itself and its extremist ideology are completely eradicated.”
