public meeting to discuss meetings with the Damascus government

The Advisory Committee of the People of Raqqa City held an expanded meeting today with Abdul Hamid al-Mahbash, the co-chair of the Negotiating Committee of Representatives of North and East Syria with the Transitional Government in Syria, in the meeting hall of the Executive Council of Raqqa Canton, to discuss the latest developments related to the negotiation process between the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria and the Transitional Government in Syria.

The meeting began with a moment of silence. al-Mahbash then gave a detailed explanation of the work of the specialized committees formed by the two parties to discuss key issues directly affecting citizens' lives. These committees include the security and military committee, as well as education, border crossings, the economy, health, and amending the Constitutional Declaration to meet current needs.

Important service and administrative issues were also discussed, aimed at enhancing legal and administrative stability in the region. Al-Mahbash emphasized that these committees will hold their meetings alternately between Damascus and the regions of northeastern Syria, within a framework of seriousness and national responsibility.

Al-Mahbash explained that the March 10 Agreement represents the primary reference for the negotiating process, as it lays the foundations for administrative, military, and security integration and establishes a new phase of decentralization in the management of the country's affairs, preserving Syria's national unity and blocking any attempts at partition. He emphasized the need to expedite the implementation of its provisions to serve the interests of all Syrians.

The attendees, who represented tribal sheikhs, intellectuals, and political and human rights elites, expressed their full support for the Central Negotiations Committee. They also emphasized the need for any prospective agreement to have clear international guarantees from the international community, particularly the United States and France, to ensure its implementation on the ground.

They also called for the involvement of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in this matter, given its pivotal role in supporting regional stability and any comprehensive national project that strengthens Syria's unity and sovereignty.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants reiterated their commitment to dialogue as a strategic approach and essential tool for building a new, unified, participatory, and just Syria, based on the principles of citizenship and equality, and guaranteeing the full rights of all its components without discrimination.
