On 45th anniversary of its founding, PKK congratulates Leader Ocalan

The Executive Committee of the Kurdistan Workers' Party issued a statement on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the founding of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).

The statement read,

“We are living in the 45th anniversary of the founding of the pioneer of freedom, the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, and as a movement, a people and a democratic humanity, we are still beginning to wage the struggle in the 46th year with strength and determination on the basis of the Global Campaign for Freedom.

We congratulate the Party Day, which falls on the 27th of November, the founding day of Leader Ocalan, all our companions, our national people and our revolutionary-democratic friends, and we remember our companion Hakki Qarar and the martyrs of the 45th year who have become symbols of along with our comrades and female companions, Leyla and Akhin, Rojhat and Ardal, all our heroic martyrs with all respect.

As is known, Leader Ocalan and the PKK did not rise up under active resistance, and received the capabilities of resistance of this kind, but on the contrary, they rose at a time and in an atmosphere such that all the classical uprisings had been defeated, and the dynamics were crushed on this basis. The Kurdish people were on the verge of extinction on the basis of genocide. In a situation like this, they rose up and developed as a contemporary national liberation movement and as a movement for democracy and freedom. Its establishment and development were achieved thanks to the creative endeavors of the leader Abdullah Ocalan and the courage and great sacrificial spirit of the Kurdish people led by women and youth.

Therefore, he achieved everything he had from uttering several phrases to creating a free life on the basis of offering martyrs through great sacrifices, and it became the 45th year for struggle and achievements.”
