In a statement, the leadership of the National Guard Forces denied the accuracy of circulating information regarding their management of the captives file or their supervision of any exchange operations. The statement affirmed that this file is exclusively handled by an officially authorized committee in coordination with relevant international organizations and the transitional government authorities.

The statement explained that the captives held by the National Guard are exclusively members of the transitional government forces in Syria, including foreign elements involved in “criminal acts and massacres against the people of the mountain.” It also noted that the International Committee of the Red Cross has inspected them.

The National Guard also denied detaining any civilians from tribal or Bedouin communities, emphasizing that both the Red Cross and the Red Crescent are fully informed of the situation.

The leadership concluded its statement by stressing that any statements or analyses attributed to the National Guard outside its official channels are “personal interpretations that lack credible sources,” emphasizing that the official page and the military spokesperson are the only authorized sources to convey its official position.
